A fire safe is essentially just a box that’s been tested for protection against heat from a 3^rd party, usually that’s what the UL rating is for. By the way, make sure they have a UL Rating logo.

Now that we have established that they are all the same as long as they have this logo, then what makes ours better? Simple, the dial. This is what gets you in the safe. If something goes wrong with it, it may very well cost you more to get into it again then what you initially paid for the safe.  Our dial packs are made out of Brass, the same metal that they use for the inner workings of a watch.  Brass is a self lubricating metal & will last a hundred times longer then most any other metal. A lot of the department store safes use plastic dial packs. Looks great from the outside, but it’s what’s on the inside that counts.

STAGE1 HEATING TEST A Brawn Safe was exposed to over a 1000°C(1830°F) in an air-tight gas furnace for nearly 2 hours.     STAGE2 DROPPING TEST Immediately after the heating test, the red hot safe was lifted and dropped from a height of 9.1 meters (29.9 feet)       STAGE3 RE-HEATING TEST After the dropping test, the safe was reheated in the furnace at the mean tempurature 1090°C(2010°F) for another 45 minutes.      TEST OBJECTIVE These testssimulated the most severe case of a house on fire with the situation of a safe burning through floor and landing in basement and then be subjected to another round of heat after the impact of the fall.            TEST RESULTS Besides the melting of some metal fittings on the external door, which had a low melting point, the interior of the Brawn Safe remained intact. The internal tempurature was 130°C, well below the paper tolerance level of 177°C. In fact, the colour of the  paper did not even change!
