I came home about a week ago to find my daughter sitting on the step because she had misplaced her key. I needed a solution so I went online & found this lock. I called the store & they told me that it didn't need batteries which is a good thing because its cold in Edmonton & they would probably drain pretty fast. My daughter got it the 1st time & it was every simple to use. My husband said it was a good buy, "BUT" there is always a but! He doesn't like the way it sticks out from the door. It comes out about 2 1/2"from door. I don't see it as a problem, of course he had to say something...8)
